Lisunov Li-2

[edit]

Someone left this unsigned comment: "which image? This should be made clear with caption" in the first paragraph reference to the 4-bladed propellers in the Li-2 image. That photo was low-quality, but it showed the 4-bladed props. The photo was since replaced by a better illustration (not a photo) that doesn't show the props clearly. Does anyone have an image that shows 4-bladed props, top turret, and bomb racks? I deleted the unsigned comment since it no longer applies. Hoserjoe 06:05, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Polish version operated by LOT may have had the 4-bladed props since the Polish-built ASz-62IR engine used in the An-2 had 4-blade props, and this is the same engine used in the Li-2. This is just a guess since I don't have any supporting info. Santamoly (talk) 08:25, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Present days

[edit]

AFAIK there are only 2 airworthy planes left, one of them was restaurated by a Hungarian foundation (Goldtimer):

The site contains color photos of the plane flying over the city of Budapest.

video of the Li-2 on Live Video

[edit]

I have posted a video of the Li-2 on Live Video since it seems such a rara avis in the west this footage was startling.

GAZ

[edit]

GAZ (Gosudarstvenniy Aviacionniy Zavod, State Airplane Factory) is nothing common with GAZ (Gorkovskiy Avtomobilniy Zavod) Gorky Automobile Plant.

The former was standard designation (GAZ-##) of numerous aviation plants in the USSR, while later was single automotive factory in Gorky.

So, the link to automobile plant GAZ is wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thebiggestmac (talkcontribs) 00:03, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
